STORM - Solar system plasma Turbulence:  Observations, inteRmittency and Multifractals

This work package is devoted to the analysis of the intermittency of geomagnetic indices fluctuations and comparison with quantitative measures of the intermittency in the magnetosphere and the solar measured simultaneously by satellites.

Two categories of indices are considered: the auroral electrojet indices, AU, AL, AE and the high resolution global indices SYM-H, SYM-D, ASYM-H, ASYM-D. A new index will be defined
by Kalman filtering. Ground based observations from the MM100 network are also analyzed. The signs of intermittency will be evidenced from PDFs computed for the targeted variables. A quantitative measure of the intermittency will be also determined for the selected intervals.
